Vahid Rahimzadeh

I am a First-year PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management (TPM), TU Delft, specializing in the intersection of NLP, Information Retrieval, and Computational Social Science. I am supervised by Dr. Savvas Zannettou and Dr. Yury Zhauniarovich.

Grounded in a rigorous engineering background (B.Sc. Mechanical, M.Sc. AI) and professional experience as an AI/Software Engineer, I approach research with a builder's mindset. My work is driven by a deep interest in the safe integration of AI technology in our lives, particularly from a social perspective. I believe in first empirically studying the underlying notions and phenomena in large-scale data, building a rigorous understanding of how AI systems interact with and shape society. These findings then inform the design of approaches, architectures, and actionable recommendations for builders, designers, and policymakers alike.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading classic literature, Persian and Russian are my personal favorites. I was once a Dota 2 Immortal (a title I wear with mixed pride), and whenever the Dutch weather allows, you'll find me biking around the beautiful Netherlands.
